The Mifflin County Junior High cross country teams 1-1 in a tri-meet with Chambersburg and Central Dauphin East Wednesday at Indian Valley Elementary Center.
The Huskies’ boys defeated CD East 24-31, but came up short against Chambersburg, 21-40. Levi Anderson led Mifflin County with a second place finish overall and a PR time of 11:48 over the two mile course. Kenneth Swartzel also ran a strong race, taking fifth, while Aiden Wible scored a PR by over 40 seconds. Nolan Wade rounded out the Mifflin County scorers. .
In the girls’ race, Daliyah Bargas ran to her second top finish in as many meets, far outdistancing the field. The four MC girls following her all chalked up PR’s. Lilllen Adams was third overall, beating her BVI time by 50 seconds Maddy Yoder did likewise, shattering her previous best by almost 30 seconds. Adalyn Lutz and Jakayla Colon also crossed the finish line with their fastest times so far this season. Mifflin County posted a 15-40 win over CD East but fell 26-33 to strong Chambersburg team.
Both Mifflin County teams go on the road next week, racing against Cedar Cliff and Cumberland Valley.
