MC indoor track team performs will at State College Invite

UNIVERSITY PARK – Mifflin County Indoor Track and Field traveled over the mountain to compete in the first of three invitationals hosted by State College Track and Field at Penn State University. The Huskies performed well across many events. The boys 4×800 team of Hart Oden, Aidan Scavitti, David Snyder and Connor Lynch started the meet in the right direction placing 5th with a time of 9:06.38. Next on the track, Michael McNitt hurdled 60 meters for a personal best time of 9.07 seconds, capturing second place. Reece Cubbison matched that with a second place and personal record time of 4:35.86 in the mile run. Additionally, Ava Kratzer and Styers Oden also placed eighth in the same event. Danielle Warfel raced to a sixth-place finish in the 400m run.  Liberty Cook and Aidan Scavitti both placed 5th in the 800m run. In the 3000m run Koy Aurand placed 5th, Hoyt Rodenbaugh took 6th and Mia Coffey captured seventh place. To finish off the track events in the 4×400 relay, the boys’ team placed fifth while the girls placed sixth. On the field Michael McNitt and Ethan Plank led the way with top finishes in the jumps. Ethan placed 7th in long jump and 8th in triple jump while Michael took sixth place in high jump and 7th place in triple jump. Brayden Stitt threw the shot put for a huge personal record distance of 34′ 0″.
