The Mifflin County Lady Huskies cross country team faced a strong Altoona team on Wednesday, October 2. Altoona defeated the Huskies, 15-55 on the Altoona course. Despite being outmatched, it was a great opportunity for the Huskies to continue developing as a team, as individuals, and to learn from their experiences.

Yesterday at our practice we talked about some of the mental aspects of running and a strategy they could use. Today was a good opportunity to put that into practice. It helped Lizzy Massie break through the 27-minute barrier and accomplish yet another PR on the season.The team came off a busy weekend racing in New Jersey. I know they are still recovering while they also prepare for another big race on Friday. We have to continue working as we turn our eyes toward “championship” season. On Friday the team runs in the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University.
