LEWISTOWN – The Mifflin County Huskies girls Lacrosse team welcomed in the Central Dauphin Rams for a PIAA matchup on Senior Night.
It was all Rams early and often putting 19 points up on the board to spoil the Huskies senior night in front of the home crowd, 19-5.
Avery Price started out the scoring run to take a 1-0 advantage. Eight minutes in and the Lady Rams would lead Mifflin County 4-0. Emma Benkovic,Maia Krupski Madison McNamee would all score goals in the early 4-0 lead in the first stanza.
Mifflin County would crack the score board with 2:31 remaining in the opening quarter. Mara Gallo would score. Gallo would have three of the teams five goals of the night.
The goal would come come on a well played pass from Desi Hershberger to Gracelynn Beckenbaugh for the score.
“I think the girls played a better second half,” said Mifflin County Head Coach Hillary Worley. “I think if we play like that in the second half tomorrow we have a possibility of coming out on top.”
Mifflin County’s other goals came from seniors Beckenbaugh and Hannah Sharp.
Mifflin County’s turnovers proved costly in the teams 19-5 loss. Central Dauphin really took advantage of the Huskies miscues. The Lady Rams were stout on defense to begin the game only allowing one shot on goal. Gallo would be the only player to take a shot on goal in the first quarter.
