It was a tough night for the MIfflin County boys soccer team, falling 2-0 to Greencastle Antrim Tuesday.
“We didn’t attack the ball and connect passes like we should in order to be competitive in this match. They snuck in behind us with a well timed run when our back line was too high to make it 1-0 at the break,” said Mifflin County coach Todd Peters. “Jack Suydam made some great steps and saves all night to keep us in it, along with some consistent play by Brody Wolfkill. In the second half, we turned up the intensity for a 10 minute period, where we generated corners, shots on their keeper and had a PK ping off the crossbar but couldn’t get a goal. We required our boys to bring that intensity, as they saw what it can do, for every full match in order to compete.”
Greencastle outshot MIfflin County 15-9.
Mifflin County led in corner opportunities 7-5.
The Huskies goalie Jack Suydam finished with 13 Saves.
In JV action, Greencastle won 4-0.
