Sep 16, 2024

It was a tough night for the MIfflin County boys soccer team as they hosted Gettysburg, Monday.

Gettysburg won the contest 3-1.

“We gave up an unfortunate own goal 10 minutes into the match. But, fought back to earn a PK that Grady Hoppel scored to put us even. Then, we didn’t get into a good supporting shape and gave up a goal with 19:24 left and then again with 50 seconds left,” said Mifflin County coach Todd Peters. “Our boys listened to what we said at half and went out there and played this Gettysburg squad to 0-0 in the second half. We had chances and were in their end but couldn’t make it happen. We were happy with the never give up attitude in our fellas and want/must build on this going forward and clean up some of those first half mistakes. “

Gettysburg outshot MIfflin County 12-6 and in corners 1-0.

Mifflin County goalie  Jack Suydam finished with nine saves.

The Mifflin County JV also lost, 2-1.
