Last evening, the Mifflin County Huskies 7th & 8th grade Jr High football team traveled to State College to take on the Little Lions. The Huskies were solid on offense, played strong on defense, and came away with a 31-6 win.
On offense, the Huskies got the scoring started with a long td pass from Landon Cunningham to Josh Colon, with Cohen Leister adding the 2pt conversion. Cunningham added a td run of his own and Leister once again adding the 2pt conversion. The score was 16-0 at the half. The lone score for State came on their opening drive of the second half. The Huskies would answer back with a Leister td run and Leister added the 2pt conversion. The final Husky score was a pick six on defense by Chase Benfer, with Liam Herrington kicking the extra point. The Husky defense was dominant with numerous tackles for loss on the evening.
