REEDSVILLE – The Mifflin County 12U softball team’s offense was hotter than the record high temperatures that the two teams had to play in.
Mix in a No-hit performance by hurler Grayce Napikoski and what resulted in a 15-0 three inning victory over Bald Eagle Area Monday.
Napikoski was almost untouchable as only two Bald Eagle runners reached base. They were Harper Parsons and Paisley Steffey.
The MIfflin County pitcher sizzled in the circle striking out nine.
Offensively, Mifflin County pounded out 10 hits in three innings.
Gracelyn Rider led the M.C. charge posting two hits while notching four RBIs. Highlighting her night was a single in the third inning that ended the contest posting 3RBIs.
In the first, the MIfflin County crew got right to work, posting seven runs.
Playing in the home team spot, Brenna Benny singled to start their part of the first. She then stole second.
Chelsea Anewalt singled in Bennyscoring one run.
Napikoski helped her own cause as she followsed with a single.
Rider followed as she blasted a double scoring two runs.
Taryn Hubler followed with a walk, putting runners on first and second.
Catcher Callie Kuhns loaded the bases with a walk of her own.
Things continued to roll for MC. Bella Yoder drew a walk, plating one run, making it a 4-0 lead.
Olivia Bedlyon hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
With two outs, Emily Dickson doubled into right centerfield, scoring two runs.
With a 7-0 advantage, Napikoski and company kept the Eagles bats quiet.
Mifflin County added three more in the second.
A triple by Taryn Hubler and a dropped third strike put the Allstars up with a lead at 10-0.
Things finished in the third inning, with the M.C. Crew added five more runs to end the contest.
