The bats came out early and often as the Bellefonte softball team defeated Central in grand fashion, 11-3 on Thursday afternoon exploding for a 17-hit effort.
Jaylee Lose’s bat was on fire as she finished her day going 5-for-5 with 3RBIs and a run scored. She highlighted her night with a roundtripper. Lose was a triple away for hitting for the cycle.
Alaina Smith notched the win for the Lady Raiders going 4 innings and striking out five.
Smith, Addrienne Masullo and Sadie Ripka all finished with multiple hits.
The Lady Raiders scored first, scoring a run in the first inning.
In the second, they were able to stretch their lead to 5-0 advantage with the offensive run.
After a scoreless third by both teams, the Lady Raiders scored first bats were at it again, posting three more runs, extending their lead to 8-0.
The Dragons got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the inning.
But the Lady Raiders were able to hold onto the lead and pick up the victory.
