Long ball proves to help Bellefonte over Bald Eagle Area

In their second meeting of the year, the Bellefonte baseball team added another win to its record, topping rival Bald Eagle Area 7-1 Friday night.

Derek Fravel got the win for Bellefonte Red Raiders as he went seven innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out eight.

Wyatt Coakley took the loss for Bald Eagle Area. Coakley allowed three hits and five runs over three innings, striking out one.

Bellefonte got the scoring started in the second plating three runs.

Trevor Johnson walked to start the inning.

Triston Heckman doubled on a ground ball to left field. Johnson advanced to 3rd.

Josh Brown followed with a walk. Johnson remained at 3rd and Heckman stayed put at 2nd.

Dominic Capperella

hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.

Braedyn Kormanic singled to left allowing Heckman and Capperella to score, making it a 3-0 contest.

Peyton Vancas had a highlighted the fourth with a solo shot.

The Red Raiders plastered three home runs on the day.

Fravel went yard in the sixth inning. Braedyn Kormanic put one out in the sixth inning.

Triston Heckman and Kormanic all had multiple hits for the Red Raiders. Kormanic and Heckman each managed two hits to lead Bellefonte Red Raiders offense.

Hayden Vaughn led Bald Eagle Area with two hits in three at bats. Bald Eagle Area didn’t commit a single error in the field.
