Liam Shaffer drove in five runs on two hits to lead MC Eagles 15U past Team All American 15u Blue 15U 13-1 on Sunday. Shaffer singled in the first inning, scoring two runs, and doubled in the fifth inning, scoring two.
MC Eagles 15U got on the board in the top of the first inning after Shaffer singled, scoring two runs, Jett Powell doubled, scoring one run, and Parker Feltenberger grounded out, scoring one run.
MC Eagles 15U scored six runs on two hits in the top of the second inning. Colton Aumiller drew a walk, scoring one run, Anthony Lawson induced Shaffer to hit into a fielder’s choice, but two runs scored, Powell drew a walk, scoring one run, Alex Lenhardt induced Luke Shawver to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, and Elijah Oswald hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Aumiller earned the win for MC Eagles 15U. The hurler allowed one hit and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out eight and walking three. Lawson took the loss for Team All American 15u Blue 15U. The starting pitcher went one inning, giving up 10 runs on five hits, striking out one and walking six.
Aumiller and Shaffer were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for MC Eagles 15U. MC Eagles 15U had patience at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game. Aumiller, Ethan Covert, and Nate Phillips led the team with two walks each.
Logan Bernardini led Team All American 15u Blue 15U with one hit in one at bat.
