It was a tough night for the East Juniata girls basketball team Thursday as they fell to Newport in a defensive contest, 42-29.

Makaylyn Peters led the Lady Tigers with a 10-points. Landyn Cramer and  Madison Snyder both finished with eight.

Newport was led by Graycen Shutt with 10.
