The Juniata girls basketball team, led by Ave Shearer’s 35 point effort, 9 of 11 from the free throw line helped lead her team to a 57-26 victory Thursday over Midd-West.

For the season,  Shearer is 15 of 17 from the charity stripe.

Regan Lowrey followed with a 16-point performance.

The Indians opened with a 22-3 first quarter effort and never were tested the rest of the way.

Juniata’s record improves to 1-1. Next up is Newport Monday 12/12.
