Late result: Bellefonte and Brookville track split weekend meet

BELLEFONTE – Mother Nature finally eased up a little on Saturday and the local track and field community took advantage of such.

The Bellefonte track and field team welcomed Selinsgrove and Brookville to its Rogers Stadium complex.

It was a very strong performance for the Red Raiders on the day even if the team doesn’t always reflect that.

In their match up against Brookville, the Bellefonte boys took the victory 83-66.

However, the girls lost their meeting 76-74.

Top Finishers finishers on the day for the Red Raiders were the girls 4×800 relay team that notched first place in the race with a time of 11:40.35.

The Boys also notched a victory in their 4×800 with a time of 8:39.99.

On the boys’ side, Sherman Lowry took third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 20.53.

Jacob Hummel followed with a third place time of 11.95 to take third in the 100-meter dash.

Bellefonte swept the 1600-meter run. Chase Ebeling took first with a time of 4:54.66.

Teammates Daniel Mussett and Alex Mansfield finished with times of 4:55.66 and 4:55.64, respectively.

Bellefonte took 2-of-3 in the 400-meter dash as Eric Bennett took the top spot with a time of 55.92.

Teammate Dillon Settle finished third with a finished time of Dillon Sette with a 56.72.

Aaron Carlini represented Bellefonte in the 800-meter run with a 3rd place time of 2:20.38.

Another Bellefonte Duo picked up top three finishes, this time it’s in the 200-meter run.

Jacob Hummel and Collin Sharp finished second and third with times of 24.48 and 25.31, respectively.

The Red Raiders picked up a sweep in the 3200-meter run.

Alexander Crist topped the list with a time of 10:35.75.

Daniel Mussett was next with a mark of 11:11.32.

Rounding out the top three was Kaiden Williams with a finish of 11:38.91.

In the long jump, Landyn Miller placed second with a leap of 18’ 9” while teammate. Zane Hummel finished third with a jump of 18’

Hummel and Miller finished first and second in the triple jump.

Hummel notched a first place time of 36’ 51/2” while Miller was next with

In the Boys-Triple Jump, the Raiders finished with a strong 1-2 punch.

Zane Hummel notched a launch of 36’ 5 1/2”.

Landyn Miller was second with a leap of 36’ 2 1/2”.

Ethan Wilson finished third in the high jump, besting 5’ 0”.

Again the Bellefonte boys finished 1-2, this time it would be in the shot put.

Placing first in the event was William Spratt with a throw of 42’ 11”.

Lee Przybys was next with a 2nd place throw of 40’ 05”

Ryan Miller took the top spot in the pole vault with a height of 9’ 3”.

In the Boys Discus, William Spratt finished with the top mark of 125’ 6” while teammate William Brininger finished third with a throw of 111’ 1”.

Rounding out place winners in the boys’ side was  Brininger with a first place nod in the Javelin with a top throw of 150’ 01”.

Teammate Wyatt Lowry finished third with a final toss of 125’ 9”.

The girls battled throughout the competition and they came out victorious in numerous events.

In the Girls 100m Hurdles, Kerri Shutika finished second with a time of 19.15 while teammate Amber Corl

finished with a third place time of 20.35.

Shutika also finished second in the 100 with a time of 13.59. Sara Proctor finished a close second of 13.87.

In the 1600, the Raiders swept the event.

Leading the way was a first place by Emma Liadis with a time of 6:09.30 while teammate Ashleigh Aukerman placed second with a time of 6:29.65.

Rounding out things in third place was Haley Herr with a third place finish of 6:37.62.

The Girls 400 had a second place finish by Gracie Sweka who finished with a time of 1:08.46.

In the 300 hurdles, Bellefonte finished with a first and third place.

Amber Corl took the race with a time of 1:00.56 while Kathryn Gearhart finished third with a 1:02.16.

The 800 also posted a first and third place combination for the Raiders.

Annie Cernuska finished first with a time of 2:45.49 while Emma Liadis

took third with a run of 2:55.42.

Finishing strong in the 200 was Kerri Shutika with a time of 27.56 good for second. Sara Proctor was third with a time of 29.42.

Bellefonte Long distance runner  Aukerman  placed second in the 3200 with a finishing time of 14:58.71.

The long jump found the Red Raiders with a second and third finish.

Proctor finished second with a jump of 14’ 4 1/2”

While third place belonged Kerri Shutika with a jump of 13’3”

In the Triple Jump the Red Raiders placed third when Josie Underwood

leaped to a jump at 30’ 5 1/2”

Abby Swisher’s jump of 4’ was good enough for a second place nod.

Gearhart got the second place finish in the pole vault while Aukerman was third with jumps of 6’9” and 5’9” efforts respectively.

It was a 1-2-3 finish in the shot put for the Lady Raiders as Ella Underwood topped the charts with a first place throw of 28’ 8”.

Autumn Eyer followed with a launch of 25’ 11”.

Gabrielle Deitrich completed the sweep with throw of 25’7”

The Red Raiders swept the discus competition.

Deitrich finished first with a throw of 86’ 3”

Right behind Deitrich was Underwood with a final launch of 73’ 4”

Finishing third with a 3rd place throw of 68’ 9” was Swisher.

Rounding out the events the Girls- Javelin was swept by the Red Raiders.

In first place with a throw of 88’ 11”was Ella Underwood.

Eyer finished second with a 78’ 11 throw. Rounding out the top three was Deitrich with a best throw of 78’ 6”.
