Late Friday action: MC falls in tough contest with Red Land

The Mifflin County Huskies and Red Land Patriots played a tight game, but Red Land pulled out the 13-9 victory on Friday. The game was tied at eight with the Patriots batting in the bottom of the sixth when Colden Warren tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Mifflin County lost despite out-hitting Red Land Patriots Varsity 11 to seven.

Red Land opened up scoring in the first inning when Brett Minnich lined out, driving in a run.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Patriots tied things up at eight when Anderson French drew a walk, scoring one run.

The Huskies tallied five runs in the fourth inning. Mifflin County’s offense in the inning came from a triple by Xavier Smith, a single by Tye Plank, a sacrifice fly by Calin McKnight, and a groundout by Ryan Kanagy.

Warren led the Patriots to victory on the hill. The pitcher allowed four hits and two runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four.

Jacob Ross took the loss for Mifflin County. The pitcher lasted two-thirds of an inning, allowing one hit and three runs.

Ryan Hine started the game for Mifflin County. The lefty lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out three Connor Livingston started the game for Red Land. The fireballer allowed five hits and seven runs over three and a third innings, striking out one

Red Land mashed two home runs on the day. Warren had a homer in the third inning. Ty Kaunas had a long ball in the sixth inning.

The Huskies saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. Landen Eichhorn, Smith, and Plank each collected multiple hits for Mifflin County Varsity Huskies. Smith and Eichhorn each collected three hits to lead Mifflin County Varsity Huskies.

Red Land tallied seven hits in the game. Warren, Josh Patrick, and David Thomas all managed multiple hits for the Patriots.
