It was a great start of the week for the MIfflin County girls basketball team as they defeated Milton Hershey in a thrilling 57-54 contest.
The Lady Huskies had three players finish with double figures.
Mackenzie Peachey lead the way with an 18-point performance while teammates Jayda Kanagy and Leah Reed both finished with 11.
Milton Hershey took the early lead outscoring Mifflin County 11-8 after one stanza.
The Spartans took the second quarter as well, this time Milton Hershey outscored the Huskies 19-14, taking a 30-22 lead into the intermission.
However, the Purple and Black Attack came storming back in the second half.
Mifflin County flipped the switch and stormed back by outscoring Milton Hershey 19-9.
In the final stanza, Mifflin County battled and outscored the Spartans by a slim 16-15 margin to clinch the victory.
In the JV contest, the Huskies lost a heartbreaker 30-29 contest.
Mya Felmlee’s 11- point effort and Reagan Kenepp’s 10 led the way for Mifflin County.
