LEWISTOWN – The MIfflin County girls basketball team fell Wednesday to Red Lion in their opening game of the Justin Henry Scholarship Trust Tournament.
Mifflin County fell in a close contest, falling 53-49.
Marissa Gingrich finished the contest with a game-high 17 points in the loss.
She was followed by
Leading the way for Red Lion was Kampuri Gordon-Bay also with 17. Teammate Bhrooke Axe had 15.
The Lions opened the contest posting a 21-9 first quarter advantage.
But in the second, the Lady Huskies pounded their way back into the contest outscoring Red Lion 16-11.
When the two went into the intermission the Lions held a 32-25 advantage.
Red Lion was able to hold off the Huskies late to take the victory.
The Lady Huskies will be back in the consolation game Thursday back at home at 2:30.
