COCOLAMUS – On Monday, the Sugar Valley Rural Charter School wrestlers traveled to Cocolamus to battle the Juniata matmen .
The Indians would pick up the 38-25 win over Sugar Valley.
Starting things at 145, Juniata’s Ty Fahnestock took the opening match against Wyatt Conoway by a 9-4 decision.
At 152, Sugar Valley’s Dakota Jodun muscled out a 13-10 decision over Coy Kerstetter.
The Indians battled back to take the 160-pound weight class as Ryder Smith pinned Connor Ohl at 1:02.
Sugar Valley’s 172-pounder got his team back on the board when Logan Leland pinned Derrick Aurand at 1:48.
The upper weights proved tough for Juniata starting at 189. Conrad Long outlasted Sugar Valley by a 16-0 tech fall at 5:33 over Brandon Galentine.
Picking up the easy win at 215, Thaddaeus Auker won by forfeit for the Indians.
Juniata continued its run at 285. Kelton Bonnell pinned Koda Mincer at 2:29 to add to his team’s lead.
At 107 there was a Double Forfeit.
Juniata forfeited at 114 giving Sugar Valley’s Hunter Berry the victory.
Sugar Valley added another at 121 as Tobias Conoway also won by forfeit.
Juniata’s 127-pounder Anthony Maradiaga pinned Taylor Cantolina at 2:25 to add another 6 points to the Indians’ lead.
At 133, the Indians once again picked up a forfeit. Colten Rowles lifted his hand in victory, securing the win for his team.
In the final match of the evening at 139, Sugar Velly’s Jarren McCloskey won by a 10-0 Major decision over Cody Nipple.
