Juniata tops Columbia Montour in a nail biter

A tough road win.

Monday afternoon, the Juniata wrestling team traveled to Columbia Montour Avts.

In a match that would not be for the faint of heart, the Indians would come out victorious 35 – 27.

Starting at 215, Columbia’s Mitchell Cornell won in easy fashion picking up a forfeit.

Juniata bounced back at 285 when Kelton Bonnell pinned Brayden at 5:40.

At 107, the match would be a Double Forfeit

Juniata gave up another forfeit at 114. Landen Hess would get the nod.

There would be another fofeit at 121. This time it would be another Double Forfeit.

At 127, Juniata once again picked up a fall. This time Anthony Maradiaga would score the pinfall over Liam  Bloom at 2:52.

The Indians winning continued at 133 with Colten Rowles. Rowles was able to pin Cody Zimmerman at 2:42.

139-pound matman Christian Levan pinned Cody Nipple at 4:28.

At 145, Juniata’s Ty Fahnestock had the match in his control as he defeated Anthony Albertson by Texh fall 17-1 3:25.

In one of the closest clashes of the night, 152-pounder Fenway Huntington was able to grind out a 9-7 decision over Koy Kerstetter.

160-pound Ryder Smith was able to get the pinfall over Bradley Jones at 2:15.

Columbia bounced back at 172. Landon Hipps pinned Derrick Aurand with a pin at 3:42.

Solidifying the win for Juniata was  189-pounder Conrad Long who pinned Dalton Roth by Fall at  5:23.
