It was a battle of two local distinguished softball programs Saturday when the Juniata Indians took to the road to go up against Mount Union.

It would be the Lady Indians that would come out with the win topping the Trojans 5-1.

Offense took center stage as Juniata got strong performances from Lexi Frontz who was 2-for- 2 with two walks and two runs, Regan Lowrey was 2-for-3 with a double and 3 RBIs. Navi Jackson, Shalelyn Armstrong, Liz Gaisior, Cheyenne Kirk, and Savannah Marshall each added hits for Juniata, and Ava Lauver had an RBI.

Juniata hurler Liz Gaisior had seven strikeouts in the win.

Record – Juniata 10-7, Mount Union 10-9.

Next game for Juniata is today versus Newport.
