Juniata Junior High Cross Country Team Place all 3 of Their Runners on the Podium at the PA Middle School Cross Country Championships.

Juniata’s 8th grader Alex Armstrong placed 13th in the boys two mile cross country race at Lock Haven University on Saturday, October 22 with a time of 11:29.1.  Benjamin Farbman of Dallastown won the event in a time of 10:14.8.  Juniata Coach Jeff Miller said “Alex ran a very nice race today to finish on the podium.  He’s not just a great athlete, but a fine young man that will go far in anything he does.  It’s been an honor to get to work with him this year in his first cross country season.”
In the girls race 8th grader Sylvia Brubaker led the Indians with her 3rd place finish running the 2 mile course in 11:51.20.  7th grader Carolyn Heidenreich ran to a 18th finish with a time of 13:16.7.  Sophia Rodriquez from Dallastown won the event with a time of 10:42.5.  Juniata Coach Jeff Miller said “Sylvia and Carolyn ran great races today.  They are both in their first season of running and have the tools to go far in this sport.  They both are competitive and have such a positive attitude.  Our first year of junior high cross country at Juniata has been a success.  Sylvia and Carolyn proved that today.”
The top 25 individual finishers were awarded medals in both the boys and girls races.
