Juniata Indians beat Greenwood 5-4 on Monday.
Greenwood jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Owen Losch doubled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.
The Indians captured the lead, 5-3, in the bottom of the fifth when Gage Harlon drew a walk, scoring one run, and Hayden Burd singled, scoring two runs.
Bryce Harlon earned the win for Juniata. The hurler allowed zero hits and one run over five innings, striking out four and walking nine. A J Adlon took the loss for Greenwood. The starter went four and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on five hits, striking out 10 and walking five. Daylyn Kennedy opened the game for the Indians. The pitcher allowed two hits and three runs (zero earned) over two innings, striking out three and walking two.
Burd went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Drew Geedey went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Indians in hits. Geedey stole two bases. Juniata ran wild on the base paths, collecting five stolen bases for the game.
Michael Hoy and Losch each collected one hit for Greenwood. Losch went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Greenwood had patience at the plate, piling up 11 walks for the game. Gavin Oburn, Braydon Beneito, and Aaden Sugden led the team with two free passes each.
