Oct 27, 2022

The Juniata girls soccer team continues its season as it defeated Somerset in a 3-2 thriller Thursday night in District 6 action.

Mylee Landis led the way for the Lady Indians as she posted two goals.

Teammate Regan Lowery had the other goal.

Somerset got goals from Sarah Boden and Dosie Steele.

Both teams had nine shots on goal while Somerset led 5-3 in corner opportunity.

Steele hit Somerset’s first goal at 12:45.

Lowery had the equalizer in the opening stanza, tying the game at one.

Boden put her team back in the lead at the 12-minute mark.

Both teams went into the intermission tied at one.

Indian goalie Mariska Beward posted  eight saves.

But that would be null and void as the Juniata offense rallied for two goals by Landis to send her team to the next round of the post season.
