The Juniata girls basketball team had a tough night Monday against TVAA opponent Susquenita at Juniata High School, falling 59-44.

Despite the loss, the Indians got a strong effort from Mariska Beward (10), Haley Mummah (8) and Mylee Landis (7).

Juniata hung tough early on as they went into the second quarter tied at seven.

The Blackhawks started to heat up in the second, outscoring Juniata 20-13. When the two went into the intermission, Susquenita led 27-20.

The Blackhawks was able to keep its distance outscoring Juniata 32-24 in the second half en route to the victory .

With the loss Juniata falls to 6-4  overall and 4-1 in the TVAA.
