Juniata 14, Halifax 0
MIFFLINTOWN – Juniata collects its first win of the season behind strong offensive play led by Victory Frontz overpowered rival Halifax 14-0 in a Tri-Valley League girls soccer game on Wednesday.

I did not take very long for the Indians to get the offense in gear as just over ten seconds into the game, Regan Lowrey found an open Frontz to put them up 1-0.

Seven minutes later, Frontz struck again, this time with a little help from Abigale Berrier who launched a lob pass over to Frontz who then proceeded to use her head, figuratively and literally to score her second goal of the match.

Frontz added her third goal of the game late in the opening half to complete the hat trick. Emerson Freed scored two goals in the first half while Kailey Smith and Mariska Beward each added a goal as well to give Juniata a 8-0 at the break. In fact, the Indians shot a high percentage having scored eight goals off of 13 shots for the half.

The offensive efficacy continued in the second half as well with the Indians continuing to look for the best shot possible with constant ball movement. Juniata scored six goals off of nine shots for the second half making it 14 goals off of 22 shots overall.

Frontz again made her presence felt in the second half collecting two more goals in the frame giving herself a grand total of five goals for the whole game.

Juniata (1-3, 1-0) will host Juniata Christian today.
