Juniata Defeated By Upper Dauphin Area

Juniata could not keep pace with Upper Dauphin Area 10-6 on Friday.

The Indians captured the lead, 5-3, in the top of the fifth when Gage Harlon grounded out, scoring one run, Bryce Harlon hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Hayden Burd doubled, scoring two runs.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Upper Dauphin went back into the lead.

Upper Dauphin Area scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth on a home run to left field by Grassmyer.

Daylyn Kennedy stepped on the bump first for Juniata. The pitcher surrendered seven hits and five runs over four innings, striking out one and walking one. Bellis started on the bump for Upper Dauphin Area. The pitcher gave up seven hits and five runs (three earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking three.

Kennedy and Drew Geedey were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for the Indians. Harlon and Burd each drove in two runs for Juniata. Harlon, Kennedy, and Geedey each stole multiple bases for the Indians. Juniata ran wild on the base paths, collecting eight stolen bases for the game.

Upper Dauphin Area worked the count all day, amassing six walks. Upper Dauphin Area turned one double play in the game.

The Indians play at home on Monday against Greenwood in their next game.
