Even Mother Nature couldn’t beat the Juniata softball team as they played Thursday against Newport Thursday.

The game was a defensive struggle throughout as the LadybImdians topped the Buffaloes 3-1 in a Tri-Valley League contest.

With the win, the Indians improve to 15-1 and Newport falls to 9-7.

Liz Gaisior was again a strike out machine as she struck out 16, allowing only two hits.

Lexi Frontz and Shay Armstrong came through with big RBIs for Juniata. Riley Lyter also walked and scored on a passed ball.

Next up for the Indians is a Tuesday trip to Greenwood.
