MIFFLINTOWN- It was heartbreaking loss for our the Juniata boys track team as they fell from the ranks of the unbeaten falling 76-74 against Greenwood.
“It was a tough meet going two days back to back so some of our kids didn’t compete in four events today but we still had some top placers,” said Juniata coach Maisie Aumiller. “Anthony Maradiga took first in the pole vault followed by teammate Tayden Miller taking second. Wyatt Ehrnzeller took second in the javelin and teammate Caden Swailes took third. Joey Bomberger took one for the team and jumped in the 300 hurdles placing second. Connor Boreman won the 100 dash and long jump. Jasper Shepps won the 110 hurdles and high jump. Andrew Martinez won discus tonight.
“I’m am extremely proud of our boys today,” said Aumiller.
The girls lost 49-101. Freshman carolyn Heidenriech continues to shine winning the 800. Emerson freed took third in the 300 hurdles and our foreign exchange student Virginia D’Emilio took second in the 100 hurdles.
Juniata had its third meet this week on Friday at Huntingdon.
