The Juniata boys soccer team got the week started off on the right foot as they defeated Halifax 6-2 Tuesday.
Juniata opened the contest scoring the first three goals of the game.
At 29:44, Juniata’s Bryce Rush got the game off and running thanks to an assist by Marcio Cardenas.
Just seconds later at 29:07 Juniata found the back of the net once again. This time Arthur Hazard picked up the goal as he was assisted by Will Saner.
The last Indians goal of the half came at 18:17 when Saner got the nod thanks to a pass from Hazard.
Halifax battled its way back as it finished the first half with two unanswered goals, cutting the Juniata lead to 3-2 at the intermission.
But the second half belonged to the Indians as they outscored Halifax 3-0 in the stanza.
Hazard, Saner and Mason Beward all notched goals.
The Shots on Goal advantage went to Juniata 15- 9 while the two teams tied in corners with four each.
“The team played well offensively and defensively in segments. We are looking to gain some consistency throughout a full game,” said Juniata coach Jared Byler. “Very proud of the team for their efforts this evening. Will Saner and Arthur Hazard each had a special evening where they were playing on another level.”
