Juniata Boys Cross Country Place 5 Runners in the Top 10 at the Small School Invitational Held at Susquenita High School to Win Against all Teams.

The Juniata Boys Cross Country team took the top 4 places out of 50 runners and their 5th scoring runner came in 10th at Susquenita High School on Wednesday evening.  Senior Logan Strawser won the event with a time of 18:58.  Sophomore Joey Bomberger placed 2nd with a time of 19:43.  Sophomore Wyatt Stroup came in shortly after in 3rd place with a time of 19:57.  Freshman Levi Zeiders placed 4th for the Indians with a time of 20:00.  Sophomore Wesley Ehrisman rounded out the scoring for the Indians with his 10th place finish in a time of 21:01.  Sophomore Charlie Telfer placed 38th with a time of 25:44.  Susquenita, West Perry, Newport, Upper Dauphin, St. Joseph Academy, and West Shore Christian competed in the event.  Juniata Coach Jeff Miller said “The boys ran great on this very difficult course.  Levi showed his huge talent today with his 4th place finish.  I don’t think he realizes just how good he can be.  The boys got in some great work today.”

In the girls race, sophomore Jessie Bomberger led the Indians with her 9th place finish in a time of 27:00.  Aspen Eby placed 22nd with a time of 32:14.  Nia Matthews placed 24th with a time of 33:42.  Juniata did not have 5 runners to compete in the team competition.  29 girls competed in the 5k race.  Alyssa Hockenberry from West Perry won the girls race with a time of 23:19.  Juniata Coach Jeff Miller said “Jessie, Aspen, and Nia all ran tough today.  This course is the most challenging course we compete on.”

Juniata travels to St. Joseph Academy on Tuesday, October 11 to compete in the TVAA Championships.
