Sep 16, 2022

Thursday the Juniata boys soccer team went face-to-face with TVL foe Line Mountain.

The Indians pulled the shut out, winning 4-0 over the Eagles

In the first half, Arthur Hazard started things off with an unassisted goal at 30:30.

Bryce Rush followed minutes later with an unassisted goal of his own, upping the lead to 2-0.

“A good win for the team today. A lot of players were able to gain some experience on the field,” said Juniata head coach Jared Byler. “We are still looking for consistency in play, but the team is progressing. Although we left a lot of goals on the field on opportunities that should have been put away, the team is able to create opportunities. As we move through the season, we will need to capitalize on those chances we create and reward ourselves. Brant, Ty, Calvin, Caden, Drew, and Fabian need to be recognized for their efforts on the defensive side of the game tonight to keep a shutout win.”

Rush was back at it in the second half, posting his second goal at 23:41. He was assisted by Mason Beward on the goal.

Rounding out the scoring was Daniel Lopez at the 13:20 mark of the game. He was Assisted by Anthony Maradiaga.

The Indians held the advantage on shots on goal (21-1) and corners (3-1) en route to the win.
