Jaden King drove in four runs on three hits to lead Mifflin County past Charles County Maryland  21-2 on Wednesday. King singled in the first inning, scoring one run, and doubled in the third inning, scoring one.

Mifflin County 16U scored 13 runs in the third inning on the way to victory.  Karl Shirey drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored three runs, Wyatt Parkes drew a walk, scoring one run, Jake Knable drew a walk, scoring one run, Liam Shaffer drew a walk, scoring one run, Cam Kauffman drew a walk, scoring one run, Jude Zook drew a walk, scoring one run, Shirey singled, scoring one run, King doubled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.

Mifflin County jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after King singled, scoring one run, Jaren Kenny singled, scoring one run, and a dropped third strike scored three runs.

Mifflin County added two runs in the second after Parkes singled to center field.

Shaffer started the game for Mifflin County. The righty gave up zero hits and one run (zero earned) over two innings, striking out five and walking four. Gabe Kibler began the game for Charles County Maryland . The starting pitcher surrendered eight hits and 14 runs (12 earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking six. Cullen Busch appeared in relief for Mifflin County.

Mifflin County accumulated 11 hits in the game. Shirey and King were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Mifflin County while hitting back-to-back. Parkes collected two hits for Mifflin County in three at bats. Zook led Mifflin County with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 14 walks for the game. Parkes stole two bases.

Charles County Maryland  had a strong eye at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Marc Wilson and Michael Goldsmith led the team with two walks each.
