Bellefonte fell to Indiana 1-0 on Monday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at zero in the bottom of the twelfth when Ethan Shank singled, scoring one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. The Indians pitchers struck out 16, while Bellefonte sat down five.
Peyton Vancas stepped on the bump first for the Red Raiders. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out two and walking two. Ryan Okopal led things off on the hill for Indiana . The starting pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over eight innings, striking out eight and walking one.
Vancas went 1-for-4 at the plate to lead Bellefonte in hits. The Red Raiders turned one double play in the game.
Indiana amassed 12 hits in the game. Tim Birch set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Indiana with three hits in six at bats. Shank went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Rocco Cosentino, Caden Force, and Charlie Manzi each collected multiple hits for Indiana. The Indians didn’t commit a single error in the field. Shank had the most chances in the field with 16.
