A walk-off left Bald Eagle on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat to Central Cambria on Monday. Central Cambria was down 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Ben Howard hit a grand slam to left field.

Central Cambria rallied for the victory despite trailing 4-0 in the seventh.

The Eagles opened the scoring in the top of the fifth thanks to two singles. Bald Eagle first got on the board when Luke Hosband singled, scoring one run.

Central Cambria flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the seventh, scoring seven runs on two hits to take the lead, 5-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a grand slam to left field by Howard that drove in four.

Connor Perry started on the bump for the Eagles. The hurler surrendered seven hits and four runs (two earned) over six and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking three. Owen Harringer stepped on the hill first for Central Cambria. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and three runs (one earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking four.

Perry, Hosband, and Wyatt Spackman each collected one hit for Bald Eagle. Perry, Hosband, and Spackman each drove in one run for the Eagles. Bald Eagle Area had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. The Eagles stole four bases in the game. Bald Eagle Area  turned one double play in the game.

Howard led Central Cambria with four runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Brayden Blasko and JD Brouse were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Central Cambria while hitting back-to-back. Grady Snyder stole two bases.

Bald Eagle welcomes Bellefonte on Tuesday for their next game.
