Huskies track and field team shines at LHU

LOCK HAVEN – The MIfflin County track and field team took their talents to the 25th Annual Bald Eagle Invitational at Lock Haven Friday afternoon.

There were a strong individual showing by both teams. The boys team finished third overall.

Myka Simmons highlighted the day for the Huskies picking up a first place and new school record in the 200-meter run with a time of 22.71. He also finished 2nd in the 100-meter run with a mark of 11.11.

In 4×400- meter relay, Simmons was a member of the 7th  place team that finished with a time of 3:40.20. The team consisted of Simmons, Caden Bell, Carter Smith and Josh Cruz.

The “Purple and Black attack” took top honors in the 4×800 – meter relay with a time of 8:26.39. The team consisted of Caden Bell, Isaac Parks Gill, Tylor Druckemiller, Carter Smith.

Jayden King  had a very impressive day, notching a 1st in the Triple Jump with a leap of 45’ 8”.

King finished 3rd in the long jump with a leap of 21’ 2.75”.

He rounded out the day with a 6th place jump in the High Jump with a leap of 5’8”.

Hart Oden notched a 3rd place finish in the 2000-meter Steeple Chase with a time of 7:55.64.

In the 1600-Meyer run, Caden Bell finished 5th with a time of 4:50.46.

In the 3200-meter run Reese Cubbison posted a 7th place time of 11:07.30.

Cubbison also finished 8th in the 1600-meter run with a time of  4:54.35.

Also in the 3200, Conrad Coffey notched a 3rd place with a finishing time of 10:39.15.

Rounding out the boys place winners was Travis Renninger posting a 4th place in the Discus with a throw of 136’ 11”.


On the Girls side, the Huskies finished in 17th Place overall

Leading things was the girls 4×800 relay team. They placed 8th with a mark of 13:06.83. The team consisted of Justice Sheaffer, Dallas Ivie, Leah Alexander and Caroline Palopoli.

Amelia Coffey placed 2nd in the 2000m Steeple Chase with a finishing mark of 9:13.95.

Teammate Ava Kratzer placed 5th in the 2000m Steeple Chase, 10:04.46.

Adeline Leason finished 8th in 1600 with a mark of 5:46.83.

Leason also picked up a 3rd in the 3200m with a time of 12:27.64.
