Huskies surge in second half but falls to Hershey

LEWISTOWN – The Mifflin County Huskies football team  hosted the Hershey Trojans at Mitchell Field on Senior night.

Early on it was a battle between the two running backs.  Both running backs carried a strong work load of carries. At the end of the night, Hershey’s Angel Cabrera would be too much for the Huskies finding his way into the endzone twice to help defeat the huskies 24-14.

Mifflin County just didn’t click on offense early at the end of the first half quarterback Landon Eichhorn went 0-3 in pass attempts, Eichhorn ended the night 5-14 129 yards, two touchdowns while being picked off once by Sweeney.

Mifflin County only had one first down in the first half.

On the defensive side senior Jacob Krazter wasted no time getting the first tackle on the night on special teams Kratzer had four tackles on the night Parker Kearns,Owen Gipe,Avery Aurand Tylor Drukenmiller all having tackles in the game.

Michael McNitt had a strong leg tonight punting very well McNitt downed a punt inside the 15-yard line late second quarter. Huskies tried to complete a comeback eichorn would connect on a pass to Parker Kearns not once but twice Kearns would account for both of the Huskies scores in the game.

Aidan Reed converted when his and his team needed to come up with a positive play.  Cameron Sweeney played well on both sides of the ball making Mifflin County’s night  difficult all night Carter Klein, LJ Douglas, Cory Schaffer jr. all having tackles in the winning effort.

Huskies sharpened up in the second half but it would be too little. The Trojans would hand The Huskies a loss at home Mifflin county is now 1-4 at home this season.

Mifflin County will travel to Bishop Mcdevitt next Friday where Mifflin County’s undefeated away winning streak is on the line.
