Mifflin County Track and Field competed at the Tim Cook Memorial Invitational hosted by Chambersburg Area High School today.
The athletes performed well in this beginning of the season non-scoring meet as they competed against the athletes of 22 other teams.
Carter Smith placed first in his initial 1600m race of the season with a time of 4:21.13. Reese Cubbison took fourth place in the same race with a time of 4:31.34. Wyatt Kauffman placed third in the 800m race in a time of 2:00.20. Fourth-place finishes were earned by Michael McNitt in the 110 high hurdles in 16.58 and Reece Bell in javelin with 155′ 2″. Later in the meet, Michael took top honors a second time by placing eighth in the 300 hurdles in 43.82. In the 3200m run, Hoyt Rodenbaugh placed seventh in 10:21.07. Koy Aurand came across the finish line immediately after to take eighth place with a time of 10:26.39. The 4×800 relays also each placed eighth. The girls’ team of Libby Cook, Mia Coffey, Ava Wagner, and Ava Kratzer ran it in 10:34.67 while the boys’ team of Aidan Scavitti, Styers Oden, Hart Oden and Connor Lynch finished in 8:35.41.
