Former MIfflin County PIAA State Champion Trent Hidlay notches a hard fought victory Saturday. However, the No. 8 Virginia Tech team held onto defeat No. 5 NC State 16-14. At 184, No. 3 ranked Trent Hidlay def. Hunter Bolen 5-3. Virginia Tech took 197 when Andy Smith defeated the Wolfpack’s Isaac Trumble 3-2.

The Wolfpack got back on the board at 285 as Owen Trephan defeated Hunter Catka in a 3-1 decision.

125-pounder NC Stare’s Jarrett Trombley topped No. 20 Eddie Ventresca in a 3-1 decision.

Virginia Tech took 133, Sam Latona defeated NC State’s Kai Orine in a 3-1 decision.

At 141, the Wolfpack’s  Ryan Jack muscled out a 2-1 decision over Tom Crook, 2-1.

149-pounder Caleb Henson defeats NCState’s Jackson Arrington 6-1.

North Carolina State fell at 157. The Hokies Bryce Andonian  took the 24-10 major decision win over Ed Scott.

The Wolfpack’s Matty Singleton took the 165-pound weight class defeating No. 20 Connor Brady in a 5-3 decision.

The Hokies took 174 when Mekhi Lewis defeated Alex Faison in an 8-2 decision.
