The Bellefonte 12U Allstars had a flair for the dramatics as they defeated Penns Valley Wednesday with a 7-6 walk-off win. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the seventh when Elliott Brezler singled, scoring one run.
The Red Raiders got on the board first inning when Frank Albright bounced into a fielder’s choice, Ethan Hoy followed with a sizzling double into center field. Teammate Victor Adams grounded out, each scoring one run.
Trailing 3-0, Penns Valley battled back to score two in the third.
But in the fourth, Bellefonte extended its lead to 4-2.
In the top of the fifth inning, Penns Valley 12U Allstars took back the lead scoring four runs.
The Red Raiders tied the game in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a RBI ground out by Brycen Mingle and a double by Albright .
Taking the mound for the home team was Jack Heron. Heron allowed three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one.
Albright threw one inning of no-run ball in relief. The pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out three and walking one en route to the victory.
Heron and Hoy each collected two hits for Bellefonte. Albright and Adams each drove in two runs for the Red Raiders .
