Mill Hall; PA – One week ago, Jacob Gomola of Guys Mills, PA was on his way to a victory when Jeffrey Weaver of Lock Haven made a pass coming out of turn four to steal the victory.  Gomola came back this week even more determined and parked his #4J in victory lane for his first win of the season at the Clinton County Speedway.  AJ Stroup was victorious in the Pro Stocks; Tyler Clowes of Selinsgrove claimed the 270 Micro feature while Larry Beacher and Zak Kline won the Four Cylinder feature events.

Port Royal’s Mike Alleman started on pole for the start of the RaceSaver Sprint Car feature event.   Allean took the early lead with fourth place starter of Gomola giving chase.   By lap number five, Alleman was leading Gomola, Matt Tebbs, Zach Rhodes and Timmy Bittner.

By lap number 6 Gomola made his pass for the lead. On lap number 11, Tebbs got around Alleman.  On lap number eleven, Ken Duke and Ryan Lynn spun in turn four to bring out the caution flag. With ten laps remaining, the top five were Gomola, Tebbs, Bittner, Alleman and Rhodes.  On lap seventeen the red came out when Mike Koehler’s car flipped on the back stretch after making contact with John Scarborough.   Both drivers were okay.  The restart gave Tebbs the opportunity to restart on the back bumper of race leader, Jacob Gomola.

Tebbs challenged for the remaining laps trying to spoil Gomola’s opportunity for redemption.  Gomola protected the low line of the speedway on the final lap and held off Tebbs for the victory.  Bittner finished third followed by Weaver and Rhodes. Sixth through tenth were Mike Alleman, John Walp, Austin Greenland, Braeden Varner and Kruz Kepner.  Heats were won by Gomola, Dale Schweikart and Bittner.  Miachel Petock won the B-Main.

Cory Long started on the pole for the Pro Stock feature event and led the opening laps.  Competition became intense as the top four cars battled for the lead.  By the completion of the fifth lap, Long was leading AJ Stroup, AY Schilling and Brandon Moser.   Stroup made the pass for the lead by the completion of lap number seven.   With Stroup out in front the battle for second became a three car race with Long, Moser and Schilling fighting for position.

Stroup pulled away and claimed the win over Long, Moser, Schilling and AJ Hoffman.   Sixth through tenth were Larry Night, Tommy Dawson, Denny Fourney, Rich Fye and James Bilger.  Heat races were won by Stroup and Long.

Tyler Clowes of Selinsgrove started on the outside of the front row.  He quickly took the lead from polesitter Mason McAndrew.   By the completion of lap number 2, sixth place starter Cory Stabley moved into the second position.  By the mid-point of the race, Clowes was leading Stabley Zachary Glass, Logan Hammaker and Alex Lukacs.   On lap nine, Lukacs car stopped at the top of turn number two with a mechanical issue.   Hammaker moved into the third position on lap number eleven, as Clowes continued to lead.   Clowes led the remaining laps to claim the win over Stabley, Hammaker, Glass and Michael Petock.  Sixth through tenth were Keaton Himes, Mason McAndrew, Hunter Zimmerman, Jillian Maurer and Coton Guiher.  Heats were won by Mac Wert, Cory Stabley and Petock.

Larry Beachel started on the front row of the 1^st Four Cylinder feature event.  Beachel took the lead at the drop of the green flag and was leading Matt Weaver, Tim Teneyck, Garrett Lucas, and Kevin Trimpey by the completion of lap number five.   On lap number eight, Weaver passed Beachel, but Beachel would regain the top spot by lap number ten.  On the white flag lap, Weaver slowed with mechanical issues to bring out the yellow flag.   Beachel crossed the line to claim consecutive feature events.   Zak Kline finished second followed by Garrett Lucas, Teneyck, and Coty Maines.  Sixth through tenth were Kevin Trimpey, Ian Heaps, Josh Norton an Ella Kauffman

The second four cylinder event had Zak Kline and Tim Teneyck on the front row.  Kline took the lead at the drop of the green flag.  By lap number three Cody Maines moved into the runner up position.  Kline began to encounter lapped traffic by lap number seven with Maines, Teneyck, Garrett Lucas and Kevin Trimpey running in the top five.   The top four remained unchanged when the checkered flag waved, with Dylan Hoover moving into the top five with two laps remaining.  Kline was the winner over Maines, Teneyck, Lucas and Hoover.  Sixth through tenth were Kevin Trimpey, Alyssa Snook, Andrew Rickets, Connor Cupp and Ella Kauffman.  Heats were won by Maines, Beachel and Kline.

The Clinton County Speedway will be back in action this Friday night; June 27^th when the Auto Barn presents a five division show featuring the USAC East Coast wingless sprints, plus Limited Late Models, Pro Stocks, 270 Micros, and Four Cylinders.  Gates open at 5PM; Hot laps are at 7PMand Racing Begins at 7:30.   For more speedway information; visitclintoncountyspeedway.com or visit them on Facebook.
