The MIfflin County girls basketball team went head-to-head against a tough Milton Hershey team Tuesday, it would come down to the wire before the Spartans would outlast the Lady Huskies 55-52 in a Mid-Penn contest.
Marissa Gingrich sizzled posting 31 points in the contest. She was hot from the three-point line by hitting seven on the night.
Milton Hershey was led offensively by Tarianda Washington who finished with 19.
Ediany Gonzalez followed with a 13-point effort.
Rounding out the double digit scorers for the Spartans was Faith Wratto with 11.
Mifflin County started off the game outscoring Milton Hershey 16-11.
Both defenses took control of the second as the Spartans took the quarter by an 8-4 margin. When the two teams went into the intermission, MIfflin County led 20-19.
Posting a 14-12 advantage in the the third, MIfflin County held a 3-point lead going into the final stanza.
But it would be the Spartans that would get hot late as they posted a 24-point quarter while holding MIfflin County to 18. MIfflin County will be back in action at home on Friday.
