First-Inning Spurt Lead Mifflin County Junior Varsity Huskies Past Cedar Cliff

Mifflin County Junior Varsity Huskies defeated Cedar Cliff 6-0 on Monday thanks in part to four runs in the first inning. Gatlin Kauffman singled, scoring one run, Wyatt Parkes singled, scoring two runs, and Carson Cherry hit into a double play, but one run scored.

Mifflin County Junior Varsity Huskies extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI singles by Karl Shirey and Kauffman.

Bo Benny earned the win for Mifflin County Junior Varsity Huskies. The righty gave up one hit and zero runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one. #24 led things off on the mound for Cedar Cliff. The hurler surrendered six hits and six runs (four earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking none.

Mifflin County Junior Varsity Huskies accumulated 10 hits in the game. Shirey, Liam Shaffer, and Kauffman each collected two hits for Mifflin County Junior Varsity Huskies. Parkes and Kauffman were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Mifflin County Junior Varsity Huskies. Mifflin County Junior Varsity Huskies ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases for the game.
