East Juniata’s Logan Strawser Competes at the Prestigious Penn Relays
Apr 30, 2023
East Juniata’s senior distance runner Logan Strawser ran in the boys 3K race at Penn Relays on the evening of Friday, April 28 at Franklin Field at the University of Penn in Philadelphia.  Logan moved himself up to 4th place a little over half way of the seven and a half lap race. He was able to stay there for a while until his legs tightened up on him and he faded back to finish 18th with a time of 8:48.21.  Rory Lieberman of Danville won the 3K race in a time of 8:34.16.
Distance Coach Jeff Miller said “The cold raid made it very difficult for Logan to do his normal pre race routine.  It was the most competitive field in a 3K he has encountered yet.  There was a lot of bumping going on throughout the race and he got spiked several times in the process.  The cold rain effects everyone a little differently.  It wasn’t the result he was looking for, but it was a honor for him to be accepted to take part in this prestigious event.  With distance running, you will have your off days.  All you can do is learn from them and keep working hard.  He has many more opportunities left in this season to have the perfect race.  He’s a winner.  He will take the experience he gained from this race to better himself in the future.”
