East Juniata shines at Sterling Hoffman Invitational

The East Juniata track and field team competed Friday at the Sterling Hoffman Invitational. The boys team repeated winning the meet.
Many great successes and several PR’s for the Tigers.
Logan Strawser set a new school record and a meet record in the 1600-meter run at 4:15.33, giving him a total of five school records. He also won the 800-meter run. Josef Book won both the 110-intermediate hurdles in a time of 15.30 and the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 40.46. Both races were personal PRs and meet records. Jake Brackbill threw 152’-2” and Ashton Imes with a 148’-2” had a great night in Javelin. Taking 1st and 2nd along with Nate Freed for a 6th place with a 138’-7”
East Juniata now have three of the top 10 record holders for Tigers Javelin throwers currently on the team.  Dontea Martin was successful in the jumps taking 1st place in the long jump with a 19’-2” and a 2nd in the triple jump with a 40’-10.5” and 5th in the high jump.  The girls had a number of individual successes. As a very young team we only had two members that had ever even competed in an invitational.
