East Juniata falls late to Upper Dauphin

The East Juniata Tigers baseball team stayed in it until the end, but Upper Dauphin pulled away late in a 5-4 victory on Friday.  The game was tied at three with the Trojans batting in the top of the sixth when.

The Tigers lost despite out-hitting Upper Dauphin Area Varsity Trojans nine to five.

East Juniata Varsity got things moving in the first inning.  Owen Dressler doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Upper Dauphin scored one run in the top of the seventh, East Juniata  answered with one of their own.  The Trojans scored when Brady Morgan singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.  The Tigers then answered when Owen Yorks singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Peterson was on the pitcher’s mound for Upper Dauphin . Peterson lasted six and a third innings, allowing eight hits and four runs while striking out four.

Dressler led things off on the mound for East Juniata . The hurler lasted five innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out six.  Kolten Martin and Kelton Bonnell entered the game as relief, throwing one and one-third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

The Tigers had nine hits in the game.  Yorks, Martin, and Dressler all managed multiple hits for East Juniata.  Dressler, Martin, and Yorks each collected two hits to lead East The Trojans stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Morgan led the way with two.
