Early Lead For Broomall/Newtown Seals Fate For Mifflin County Babe Ruth 14U All-Stars

Mifflin County  fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-1 loss to Broomall/Newtown on Monday. Broomall/Newtown scored on a double by Carren in the first inning, a single by Quinn in the first inning, and a single by Carren in the second inning.

The Mifflin County 14Us struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Broomall/Newtown, giving up nine runs.

Broomall/Newtown got on the board in the first inning. Carren drove in two when Carren doubled.

Conaty led things off on the mound for Broomall/Newtown. The bulldog allowed six hits and one run over seven innings, striking out four.

Chase Leister was on the mound for Mifflin County . The hurler went two innings, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out two and walking zero. Braxton Smith, Reese Christine, and Michael McNitt each contributed in relief for Mifflin County Babe Ruth 14s.

Gavin Powell went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Mifflin County in hits.

Broomall/Newtown had eight hits in the game. Quinn and Carren all managed multiple hits for Broomall/Newtown.
