Despite loss, Lady Huskies have season to remember
Jun 6, 2022

Though the Lady Huskies lost Monday night to North Allegheny 6-4.

However, the season was quite successful as the finished as back-to-back District 6 champions!

Congratulations to the MIfflin County softball team as they had a season that won’t be quickly forgotten.

Despite falling in Monday’s PIAA State playoff game, the Lady Huskies brought us many numerous highlights throughout the season.

From back to back near perfect games but no-hitters from MIfflin County hurling ace Madison Wolfgang to the phenomenal hitting by Dakota Hershberger, who blasted a home run shot against rival State College in the District 6 championship.

The team has grown and matured right before our eyes.

These girls started as wide eyed young eager players that came into the season with such potential but by the end of the season reached higher than anyone would have ever imagined.

Your success came with the great coaching and development as well as an eagerness to learn and get better.

The team also became such a close family and not only worked to improve for just themselves but for each other.

Such a Great sign for success.

All of the team from starters to the reserves came up big throughout the year.

Not one person was bigger than the other and it showed as you started to turn up the heat late in the season and make quite an impressive run to capture the D6 title from a very tough 19-2 State College team.

The best of what talents you will bring to the next season is just starting to grow!

Keep your heads up! Continue to Play your game and good things will continue to happen!

Everyone in MIfflin County is so proud of you!! Never forget that!

Thanks for the memories!

It’s been an honor covering you!
