Cubbison and Sechler pace MC at the Igloo Invitational
Apr 2, 2022

It was another great day for the Mifflin County Husky track and field teams as we traveled to Altoona to compete in the Igloo Invitational.  Leading the way was Senior Kylee Cubbison.  Kylee started the meet off winning the 1600 meter run in a school record time of 5:08.82.  She later doubled back taking the 800 meters in 2:23.22.

The lone champion on the boys side came from Josiah Sechler.  Josiah threw another big toss in the javelin winning the event with a 181’10” mark.  This was a sweet moment for him as he was able to beat the athlete who kept him from winning a D6 title and trip to states last year.

Other place winners today were Dominic Reed 7th 300 hurdles (43.69), Lilly Yoder 2nd 400m (1:02.09) 4th triple jump (33’10”), Danielle Warful 8th 400m (1:03.97), Addie Parsons 5th 3200m (12:10.41), boys 4×1 team of Sechler, Kauffman, Wilson, and Wert 5th (45.88), girls 4×4 team of Cubbison, Markley, Warful, and Yoder 5th (4:24.67), boys 4×8 team of Royer, Fultz, Coffey, and Bell 4th (8:43.85), girls 4×8 relay team of Parson, Anderson, Wagner, and Sheaffer 8th (11:41.35), Kauffman 4th in high jump (5’10”), Wert 2nd long jump (21’5.5”) and Wert 3rd triple jump (43’3.25”).  “I was very happy with our team’s efforts today.  Coming off a tough week with little rest, the kids showed fortitude and grit,” said MIfflin County coach Scot Sechler. “We’re continuing to improve and we’re making great strides in becoming better competitors and teammates.  I think things  are setting up nicely for a great season!”
