The Bellefonte Lady Raiders fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-0 loss to Clearfield on Thursday. Clearfield took the lead on a single in the first inning.

The Lady Raiders struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Clearfield, giving up nine runs.

Clearfield got things started in the first inning when Alaina Fedder singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

A single by Madison Melius in the seventh inning was a positive for Bellefonte.

Emma Hipps earned the win for Clearfield. The fireballer surrendered zero runs on one hit over seven innings, striking out 13 and walking zero.

Josselyn Nau took the loss for Bellefonte. The pitcher went three innings, allowing nine runs on ten hits and striking out one.

Melius went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Bellefonte Varsity Lady Raiders in hits.

Clearfield racked up 11 hits. Fedder and Olivia Bender all managed multiple hits for Clearfield. Fedder led Clearfield with three hits in four at bats.
