BELLEFONTE – Seems like old times.

Friday night, the night belonged to Bellefonte quarterback Liam Halterman as he was back under center one last time at quarterback.

However, this time he was leading the charge for the North team in this year’s Lezzer Lumber Football Classic.

Halterman helped manufacture a late game winning drive that helped his team pick up a hard fought 36-28 victory in front of his fans.

He was just one of 12 Centre County athletes to take to the field one last time before heading to their next step in life. Teammate Aden Howell and Noah Weaver also were chosen to the grid iron classic.

Halterman threw for 63 yards and ran for 84 yards and a touchdown.

State College led the list of players selected as the Little Lions had five players.

Leading the way for the Little Lions was running back Mar Wilson. Mar showed electrifying speed and shiftiness in his time handling the ball. He finished with 94 yards rushing. Teammate Darryl Lunon was tough on defense as he captured the North’s defensive MVP award. Tight end Thomas Keller, Robert Strayer and Reese Wilson also played strong games as well.

Wyatt Spackman and teammate Dakota McCool also were selected with both coming from Bald Eagle Area.

Rounding out the Centre County players were Penns Valley’s Allen Auman and Philipsburg-Osceola’s Samuel McDonald.

Despite trailing for most of the game, the Centre County group as well as the rest of the North team banded together to take home the late 36-28 win.
